Our History

A&R Interiors’ name is synonymous with distinctive design, the finest furnishings, accessories from around the world and – most importantly – trusted service. Established in 1972, Adrienne Rich created a one-of-a-kind design firm based on her belief that spaces should reflect the personalities of the people who live and work in them, not the designer. A&R began in a small shop in the Morris County Mall in Cedar Knolls, NJ. Adrienne’s innovative approach to interior design—combined with a dynamic, energetic personality—propelled the business forward. In its origin, A&R began as a 13,000 foot movie theatre in an art deco building. As interior design evolved toward customization and specialization, they relocated to their boutique showroom currently at 27 East Main Street in Denville. Adrienne's penchant for getting to know and understand her clients—coupled with great design support—launched the firm into an award-winning, multi-million dollar business with clients in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Many are well-known and many have become long-time friends of A&R. Today, Allyson Rich-Morren, partners with Adrienne to continue that tradition along with their staff of experienced designers, all professionally trained. Allyson’s education started as a Business/Marketing major at Boston University and continued at the New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan. She has years of experience beginning at the Bloomies Buyers Program and culminating at A&R for the past 30 years.
